1. Works-In-Progress Conference “IPScholars Asia”
“IP(Scholars) A(sia) Works-in-Progress Conference” is an initiative by the Applied Research Centre for Intellectual Assets and the Law in Asia (ARCIALA), School of Law, Singapore Management University in 2016.
The conference provides an open annual forum for scholars across Asian economies researching and writing on Asian IP laws and regimes to present and discuss their works-in-progress in a more relaxed and interactive manner. Participants also came from the US and the European Union. Three consecutive IPSA Works- in-Progress Conferences have since been successfully held, making the event an invaluable asset in Asia.
Upcoming event: The 4th IPSA Works-in-Progress Conference will be held in the School of Law, Singapore Management University on 30 – 31 January 2019
2. ASLI Conference
The Asian Law Institute (ASLI) was established in 2003 through the efforts of several leading Asian law schools to foster Asian legal scholarship and to facilitate greater interaction amongst legal scholars in Asia as well as legal scholars outside Asia working on Asian law.
Each year, ASLI organises one of the largest (if not the largest) annual conference focusing on Asian law. ASLI also organises other thematic conferences and workshops in Singapore and elsewhere in Asia. ASLI also welcomes to NUS colleagues from member ASLI institutions as ASLI Fellows. These Fellows spend two months in Singapore researching, writing and presenting the fruit of their research.

3. ALSA International Legal Training and Workshop
The ALSA International Legal Training and Workshop (AILTW), started in 2014, is one of ALSA International’s annual flagship events that aims to equip participants with extensive, practical skills and knowledge on a particular legal topic(s) through training sessions, workshops, symposiums, legal visits and such other activities. The event is also hoped to provide participants with insights into possible career aspirations and networking opportunities with legal experts, practitioners and their fellow future lawyers from all over the region.
4. Asia Pacific Conference on Mediation (APMF)
The Asia-Pacific Mediation Forum (APMF) is a not-for-profit regional association of individuals, organisations and institutions interested in promoting peace through mediation and other conflict transformation processes wherever conflicts threaten the well-being of individuals, organisations, communities and local, state or national governments in the region. The main objective of the APMF is to facilitate the exchange and development of knowledge, values and skills of mediation and other conflict transformation processes, in any form, including inter-cultural, interpersonal, inter-institutional and international, within and between the diverse countries and cultures in the Asia-Pacific region.
Upcoming event: The 9th APMF Conference will be held in Seoul, Korea in 2019
5. National Workshop on OER
The 3rd National Workshop on OER with the theme “Implementing the Open Educational Materials: Copyright and Licensing” co-organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and UNESCO Organization. Including representatives from the Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Science and Technology, higher education, international overlay and international libraries.
